The electric vehicle fleet optimization and route planner developed by Volteum is now available in the Geotab Marketplace. This enables fleet operators to switch to electric vehicles more quickly and to optimally exploit the potential of their fleet.

Geotab, one of the world's leading providers of IoT and Connected Transportation solutions, welcomes Volteum as a new partner on the Geotab Marketplace. Geotab customers can now purchase Volteum's electric vehicle fleet route planner - a solution that fits seamlessly into the existing ecosystem. Fleet managers benefit from the rich data and EV-optimized route planning available through Geotab's solutions.

For Volteum, sustainability is one of their most important concerns: we were recently chosen the best sustainable company in CEE at the Microsoft Startup Awards 2022. Geotab also attaches great importance to sustainability and to working with like-minded marketplace partners such as Volteum. This is how Geotab can optimally support its Marketplace customers in realizing their own environmental goals.

“The electrification of entire fleets is an unprecedented challenge for fleet operators. When switching from combustion engines to electric vehicles, transport and logistics companies are confronted with many imponderable circumstances. They go from driver scepticism through range anxiety to customer concerns about reliability. With its practical data and route planning optimized for electric vehicles, Volteum offers fleet operators security and an efficiency boost when converting their fleet to an emission-free drive,” says Klaus Böckers, Vice President Nordics, Central & Eastern Europe at Geotab.

“We are pleased to welcome the company as a new partner on our marketplace. In this way, Geotab can better support its customers in achieving their electrification and sustainability goals.”

With over 500 vehicle models in the database, Volteum meets the needs of numerous electric vehicle fleets. The route planning is not only tailored to the different vehicle models but also takes into account the location of charging stations and their capacities and performance. There are currently over 180,000 charging points across Europe, with Volteum's database being updated daily. We have also integrated real-time monitoring of the occupancy of charging stations into our database. This ensures that drivers always know exactly which charging station is available and which is not. In addition, meteorological and topographical data are also included in the calculations in order to realistically determine the range of the vehicle under all weather and driving conditions.

The switch from combustion engines to electric vehicles is happening at a rapid pace. What fleet managers need most of all is the certainty that their vehicles are safe on the road. They depend on systems to ensure that range anxiety is a thing of the past and that they can always find a charging station on their journey to recharge their batteries and then reach their destination.

We're excited to be a part of the Geotab Marketplace, part of an ecosystem driving the EV transition. In the next few years, the majority of fleet operators will electrify their fleets, and we offer the solution for safe and efficient route planning and fleet optimization.
